Dragi prieteni,

Application:
Puneti literele in ordinea corecta pentru a forma un salut :

a -  - DOGO ROMNNIG

                                   Verbul TO BE (A FI) 

I am = eu sunt

You are = tu esti

He is = el este

She is = ea este

It is = el/ ea este ( Impersonal - pentru obiecte, animale, fenomene) 

(Exemplu: It is a book. = Este o carte.  It is a fox =  Este o vulpe).

We are = noi suntem

You are = voi sunteti

They are = ei/ ele sunt (Personal si Impersonal)

Nota : Verbul “to be’’ are si o forma scurta ( contrasa) folosita mai ales in limbajul de zi cu zi,  informal.

TO BE ( short form = forma prescurtata)

Expresii interogative

Who = cine

What = ce

When = cand

Where = unde

How = cum

Which  = care, pe care ( impersonal)

 

Exemple:

Who is your teacher? ( Cine este profesorul / profesoara voastra?)

What is this?      ( Ce este acesta/ aceasta?) Sg.

What are these? ( Ce sunt acestia/ acestea?) Pl.

Where do you live?   ( Unde locuiesti?)

 

Forme prescurtate 

Who's = Who is

What’s this = What is this

Where’s = where is

I'm fine thanks, and you?
Mrs. Popescu:
Not too bad. Mr. Jones, this is my husband Mihai. Mihai this is Mr. Jones, my English teacher.
Mr. Popescu:
Pleased to meet you.
Mr. Jones:
Pleased to meet you too. Are you from Romania, Mr. Popescu?
Mr. Popescu:
Yes, I’m from Bucharest. Are you from London?
Mr. Jones:
No, I'm from Derby, but I live in London now.
